Chicago Fair Notice Ordinance

Chicago tenants are entitled to advance notice of a rent increase, termination or nonrenewal of a lease. The amount of advance notice depends on the length of time the tenant has been living in the property:

less than 6 months  --   30 days
6 months to 3 years  --  60 days
more than 3 years  --  120 days
