Persons buying cars without visiting the car dealer's place of business, as many sellers of new and used cars are advertising during the COVID-19 pandemic, may (depending on the facts) be entitled to a three-day "cooling off" period for home solicitation sales under federal and Illinois law, running from notice of that right. Normally no such right exists for car purchases, unless the seller contracts to provide one.
