Chicago Consumer Protection Lawyer
Heather Kolbus is a partner at Edelman, Combs, Latturner & Goodwin, LLC. She concentrates her practice in areas of consumer law in class action and individual litigation and arbitration. She has extensive experience in matters involving the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Illinois Consumer Fraud Act, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. She has handled hundreds of cases alleging various violations of consumer protection laws and has recovered millions of dollars for consumers.
She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the National Association of Consumer Advocates. She earned her J.D. in 2002 from Roger Williams University School of Law, and her B.S. cum laude in 1997 from DePaul University. While in law school, she was a quarterfinalist in the Judge John R. Brown Admiralty Moot Court competition, earned CALI awards, and had a summer clerkship for Judge Edward C. Clifton, Rhode Island Superior Court. She is admitted to the Illinois Supreme Court and Connecticut Supreme Court (retired), as well as the following federal courts: First Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of Illinois, U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin.
